Senior Class Gift
What is the Senior Class Gift Program?
The Senior Class Gift is a tradition that started back in 1910, when the graduating class left their mark on the Maryland campus by donating a gate for the Rossborough Inn. Since then, almost every graduating class has given a gift to the University in honor of their graduation. It is your last tradition as a student, and your first as an alum!
Your gift, Your legacy!
The 2009 Senior Class has voted to help support the redevelopment of the Morrill Quad located in the middle of Tydings, Lefrak, Taliaferro, Shoemaker and Morrill residence halls, the last of which is the oldest building on campus. The historic quadrangle was once the Mall of the original campus. Today, the quad is being redeveloped to help preserve the history of the University of Maryland. The Class of 2009 will honor one of our campus' oldest treasures with one of our campus' oldest traditions, the Senior Class Gift! Gifts received from the Senior Class Gift efforts will support one or many additions to the redevelopment, such as a senior walkway, a gateway, decorative trees, benches and more!
Take a moment now to support your Senior Class Gift!
| Why support your Senior Class Gift? |
| · |
Tuition covers just 25% of UMD's budget, and during your time at Maryland alumni support helped fill the gap. |
| · |
A Senior Gift will benefit you and Maryland, as it will increase the reputation of the University and increase the value of your degree. |
| · |
Show your generosity for the education and experiences you received from Maryland. |
| · |
It's a tradition!! |

Ask yourself, what would Testudo do? Testudo would give. |
For the cost of a couple cups of coffee, you can make a real difference! A gift, no matter the size, helps make your class gift a success
How much do you have to give? When it comes to this year's Senior Class Gift, size doesn't matter. It is how many seniors we can get involved. Our goal is to have 50 percent participation from our senior class. Just think ... if every senior gave $20.09 we'd have no problem exceeding last years efforts of $25,000.
